KAVAK MINE
Kavak is TMS's largest and oldest mine and it has been operational since 1930. Kavak Mine is presently one of the deepest chrome ore mines in Turkiye. Typical annual production is 40,000 tons of saleable concentrates as well as some amount of saleable lumpy ores.

The concentrator which is presently active in Kavak Mine was initially established in1920. This plant, which is the first chrome ore concentrator in Turkey. After having necessary modernization and capacity enlargement it has been re-established in Kavak in 2010. It still yields high-quality concentrate (min 49% Cr2O3). The Kavak Mine exports its production from Gemlik Port, which is located 125 km. away from Istanbul.

TAVAS MINE
Tavas mine has been operational since 1965. The concentrator which is presently active in Tavas also having necessary modernization and capacity enlargement it has been re-established in Tavas in 2015 and average annual production is around 20,000 tons of saleable concentrate and over 8,000 tons of saleable lumpy ore. It still yields high-quality concentrate (min 50% Cr2O3).

Concentrates and lumpy ores from Tavas’ Mine are usually exported from Izmir- Aliaga Port, which is located on the Eagean coast of Turkey.
